for the majority of my life, i've had an aversion to khaki. (flashbacks to sundays in the summer, sweaty air, church clothes: sticky polos and khaki shorts, tan saddleshoes and white athletic socks.) however, i've found myself inexplicably drawn to twill recently. i'm kind of over denim for the moment, and there's something romantic about a broken-in khaki: safaris and yves saint laurent, the british and india, the heyday of the ivies. i bagged another 3 meters of khaki this afternoon, am considering reupholstering my entire wardrobe in it.
